Qpet

Ian Fan Dec 2013

Qboom (Creative Director) cooperated with me (Technical Director) to develop the App for parents and kids.

Qpet is designed to make children happy while playing an interactive and instructional game. It exercises the audio, visual, and motor skills in a fun, social environment for preschool kids. Interactive voice and musical elements are included.

Now available on the App Store:

Pets in the playground:

Each character has its own physical space, they can touch each other. The car can move pets if they are in its way.

2.5D Perspective:

The character is bigger when close to you and smaller when far away. The character can stand in front of things or go behind them.

Smooth motion and Acceleration:

The car’s engine revs, and the wheels spin. The car slowly speeds up and then gently jerks to a stop.

Mimic Voice:

Replay the voice with a higher pitch to perform a woman’s voice. Replay the voice with lower pitch to perform a man’s voice.

Play piano:

The performance about sound react (response) speed is perfect when swipe the piano or touch as fast as you can.

Sing a song together:

Discover how talented the pets are. Tap and hold the rainbow to hear them sing a song. Continue tapping and they will sing along with your own tempo.

Eating and Rejuvenation:

The pets are always attracted to the food. When they eat, real munching sounds match their every bite.

Hungry and Tired:

When they are tired, they dream of cake, pie and pizza. If you do not feed them quickly, they become cranky and take a nap.

Napping and Rejuvenation:

Do not wake them up during nap time; they will be mad. However, if you show them food, they will suddenly awaken because their dreams have come true.

Enhancement of the designer’s work:

Different responses can be created to meet the designer’s goals. For example, the wind chime is only a still image. The programmer produced the shaking-vertical effect by using a figure 8 animation.
